The Akura Chronograph concept communicates rugged tool watch aesthetics through the use of flat surfaces and sharp geometric angles. A multilayered dial retains strong legibility. A rich history in Chronograph design is drawn from, with watches such as the original all-metal Omega Speedmaster serving as inspiration.

thoughts
The Akura Chronograph was an interesting design challenge for both dial and case. Using multiple layers to create an attractive, sleek case side profile was a priority for the case to fit the chronograph movement with its increased height.
The choices made for the overall design language allow for the design to successfully communicate its intended purpose as a rugged tool watch.
