Hardy Noces de diamant

cognac packaging

Hardy approached us to re-design the packaging for their high end Noce de Diamant Cognac. The goal was EU manufacturing coupled with sustainable materials and a fresh design.

Creating a display packaging for high-end cognac that utilizes new materials and is space efficient.

Design 1

My first notable design creates a mini display that lets the decanter stand completely free. Light reaches it from all directions, illuminating the beautiful glass work. The overall structure is made from MDF, with beige rPET Suede and deep blue covering paper creating a diamond outline. A back wall from proTerra recycled Plexiglas showcases the logos and subtle pattern. Simple shapes reduce manufacturing steps, making European production feasible.

A moulded fiber insert holds the bottle in place in the carry case. The glass stopper is held on the inside of the case door, and finds just enough space with the door shut:

Design 2

Design 2 was created to display the bottle opened whilst using minimal shelf space, with a top ceiling that acts as dust shield. I transferred the diamond motif into a carton solution that lets the doors completely swing to the back, held in place by magnets. The shape of the doors maintains the diamond shape cutout when opened fully, allowing light to reach the decanter at all times. The crystal stopper gets its own packaging that can be kept for personal use.
