I worked on designing and visualizing a new packaging concept for Faber-Castell's Pitt Artist pen. A modular solution was devised that satisfies both indoor & outdoor usage.

studio cabinet
The cabinet keeps the pen sets together and serves a added protection in transport.
The individual travel packaging pictured above acts as drawer that can be pulled out.
The drawers can be both closed, for transport / dust protection, or opened with the lid swung around.
In both modes, the front tab with magnet serves as the drawer pull.

modular expansion
The cabinet is expandable to up to five drawers. Using the larger versions is especially convenient, as each pen set can be accessed and stowed away quickly.

thoughts
The traditional packaging is reinterpreted as a studio mainstay, adding value beyond the expected. The furniture-like quality of the cabinet makes it a desirable object for interior spaces.
Simple to use whilst allowing freedom on the go, it serves to embolden artists.
