Acredo approached us to re-design their existing engagement and wedding ring packaging assortment. This includes the classic ring boxes, as well as a presentation tablet and gifting set.

At first the designs were meant for the Japanese market, but were later adopted to serve as global packaging.

Design 1

This design creates a luxuriously weighty impression through the ziggurat shaped lower half. The rPET suede insert can be lifted to reveal a ring pouch and membership card. This modularity also allows for individualising the insert's colour. The shades of purple shown here create a beautiful counterpoint to the neutral beige canvas material - a white divider between them averts colour conflict.

The Acredo presentation tablet was given a new materiality, with wooden veneer's colour harmonizing with the packaging's canvas texture:

The design ultimately chosen maintains the materiality, whilst opting for a more traditional rectangular shape. A metal foil band adorns the lower half. The interior follows the same modular approach that allows for colour choice. The novel ring clip has the rings tucked into a cutout cavity. This avoids the use of metal that is found in traditional clips.

There is demand for a special keepsake for the signing of the marriage certificate. The book plays with expectations, delighting with its surprise effect and multi-faceted unboxing experience. The overall presentation is elevated, featuring pen & envelope. The colourful, modular nature of the inserts also applies to this design.

One of my first complete jewelry packaging series, it set the stage for many design projects to come.

As established in this project, retaining the focus on sustainable materials and making them visible to both eye & touch always remained top priority.
